Abstract

Sarcopenia has been increasingly recognized as a predictor of poor outcomes in cancer patients. This study evaluated the prognostic impact of sarcopenia in 420 patients with gastrointestinal malignancies. Sarcopenia was independently associated with reduced survival and increased postoperative complications. Early nutritional and physical interventions may improve outcomes.
